Braces Done Better

Dr. Brandon Foltz looks back on when he and his parents first explored treatment for his crooked teeth:

“I would find myself not smiling… I was embarrassed. The doctor, he would make a point to talk to me face to face, ask me about things in my life other than just my teeth. I was more than a number to him. I was Brandon.”

That same ethos drives Dr. Foltz’s own practice. He remembers the feeling he had when he first saw his teeth after braces, and it’s a moment he strives to create for each of his patients.

“Looking in the mirror, tears came to my eyes… like, ‘Oh my gosh, I care about my smile now.’”

Since founding our practice in 2017, Dr. Foltz has straightened more than 1,500 smiles with braces and other orthodontic solutions. You’ve found an orthodontist who genuinely wants to help you smile your best smile yet.

What Food Should I Avoid with Braces?

Traditional Braces

Children, teens, and adults can benefit from traditional metal braces at Avenue South Orthodontics. This treatment option uses metal brackets and wires to correct the position of crooked teeth, crowded teeth, rotated teeth, and bite issues over about 18–24 months, depending on how complex your case is.

Dr. Foltz is a provider of phase 1 orthodontics, also known as early start orthodontics. If your child is 6–10 years old and your family dentist identified the potential for overcrowding issues when their adult teeth come in, call Dr. Foltz for specialized help.

Clear Braces

Clear braces are a favorite choice for teens and adults alike. The wire and brackets are made from tooth-colored plastic or ceramic instead of metal, so they blend in whenever you smile.

If you’ve hesitated to get braces because you work, you’re in school, or you simply don’t want to draw attention to your teeth as you undergo orthodontic treatment, taking an alternative path with clear braces may be for you. If you’re interested in a discreet option like clear aligners, but know it will be hard for you to keep track of your aligner trays, you’re also a great candidate for clear braces.

CONSIDERING INVISALIGN?

If you prefer to straighten your teeth with a comfortable and discreet solution, Dr. Foltz may recommend Invisalign® clear aligners. This orthodontic alternative to braces uses a series of custom aligner trays to guide your teeth into their ideal positions over 12–18 months.

Invisalign is often preferred by teens and adults. They allow for more freedom, as you’re allowed to take your clear aligner trays out for meals and special events, as long as you commit to wearing them for 20–22 hours each day. Because they’re removable, they also make for easier brushing and flossing.

Dr. Foltz is a Top 1% Invisalign provider in terms of the number of cases he handles every year, making him a prime choice for your care.
